Karen Costello

Project Coordinator

Karen is the project coordinator of the Blue Skies Initiative. Karen holds a degree in Psychology, with a postgraduate qualification in Counselling & Psychotherapy, and an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis. 

Karen has extensive experience working in a variety of organisations that support families and individuals in the community.  In particular, Karen has extensive knowledge, skills and experience working with young offenders and those in the care system.

Sarah Thornberry

Project Development Worker

Sarah is a project development worker with the Blue Skies Initiative. Before joining the team, Sarah worked with the Youth Services in Clondalkin for ten years.

Sarah has a huge range of skills and experience working with the local community.

Edwina Deegan

Project Development Worker

She is an experienced special needs educator and workshop facilitator with many years experience working in various roles within the education industry.

She has an honours degree in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE); Disability Studies and a Higher Diploma in Nutrition.

Dr. Caitríona Delaney


Caitríona is an excellent researcher with a particular interest in marginalised groups.

Caitríona completed her PhD in Trinity College Dublin.

Mary Mc Carthy

Project Development Worker

Mary has a wide and varied background including working for many years in various settings with children with additional needs.

Mary is also a qualified midwife who has extensive experience of supporting vulnerable families in the community.

Jess Tobin

Project Development Worker

Jess has worked in the youth and community sector for 20 years, this includes 10 years in Youth Work.

Her experience include working in diverse community settings.
