Transition Resources

A Transition is the process of moving from one situation to another and taking the time to adjust. With this in mind we have created various ‘Transitions Packs’ for students.

Ready Steady School

Major transitions, such as moving from Pre-school to Primary School, represent significant milestones in a child’s life. Good communication processes are key to ensure that transitions happen as smoothly as possible. The Transitions Document places the Child at the centre of the change process, and aims to support children on their education journey. In line with Aistear/Siolta Practice guide, the Transitions Document has been developed as a communication tool for use when children are moving from Pre-school to Primary school.

We work with local Early Years services to provide these transition packs to children and families across Clondalkin and Adamstown areas. In 2020 712 children availed of this resource through 27 early years’ services.

The pack is also available in Irish.

“Parents received them during lockdown and they said that it really helped with the child’s transition and explaining what will happen going to big school”

Unfortunately due to COVID19 restrictions, students due to start in Adamstown Community College in September 2020 never had the opportunity to visit their new school. Therefore ACC have put together this super little video to take you on a journey around Adamstown Community College.
