Supportive Pathways
A Guide to Supports in your Community
StartBright Early Learning Centres and the Blue Skies Initiative are
happy to share this guide, Supportive Pathways. We created this guide
because we saw that families often need help finding information and
support. Our goal is to give you clear pathways to services that can
help your child and your family. This guide includes information about
different supports and how to access them. While it doesn’t cover
everything, we hope it helps you at different times in your journey. If
you need extra help, our centres and other local professionals are here
for you.

How Are They Doing? A Community Perspective on Child Well-Being
We are delighted to jointly publish the first study of its kind in Ireland ‘How are they
doing? A Community Perspective on Child Well-Being’.
This study, carried out by Archways, and funded through the Area Based Childhood Initiative, aims to
provide valuable insights into child well-being to researchers, policy makers, those who
provide services, and members of the community at large. The National Children’s Strategy
(2000) outlines three main goals; children will have a voice; children’s lives will be better
understood and children will receive quality supports and services. We believe that this
study helps to achieve those aims for the children surveyed.
